The island of Tenerife, in the Canary Islands is the perfect destination for a romantic holiday. Despite being very near the Equator, the temperatures in Tenerife are extremely moderate and enjoyable. In fact, Tenerife is referred to as the “Island of eternal spring” because of its moderate climate which provides an excellent habitat for lush vegetation and year-round sunbathing.
Those looking for a couple’s afternoon spent on the beach will enjoy a large range of options. Some of the gorgeous exotic beaches include: Jardín Beach, Martiánez Pond, Martiánez Beach, Teresitas Beach, or Roque Beach. For the adventurist, there are several nudist beaches including: Playa de la Tejita (El Médano), Playa de los Patos (La Orotava),Playa de las Gaviotas (Sta. Cruz). If you don’t want to have to travel far, plenty of Tenerife hotels are located right on or very near the beach. They may be a little bit extra, but the views are definitely worth it if you’re looking to up the romance factor.
If you want to add a bit of culture to your romantic beach getaway, there are plenty of museums to visit. The ‘La Recova’ Arts Centre, Natural and Human History Museums, and City Library and Fine Arts Museum are all worth exploring. The Black Pyramids are also a “must-see” tourist site.
Couples who are looking for an adventure should check out scuba diving or snorkeling – it’s a great way to take in Tenerife’s underwater landscape. After working up an appetite, refuel with delicious dinner at any of Tenerife’s diverse restaurants.
Those after a bit of pampering should look into the excellent spas located all over the islands. Having a massage alongside your partner is a great way to de-stress and enjoy a luxurious treat.
Tenerife is also home to a vast number of accommodation options. From simple self-catering apartments to mid-range hotels and super chic resorts, Tenerife has plenty of options when it comes to finding somewhere to stay. During off peak months there are also a number of cheap hotels in Tenerife and flight discounts available that will allow you to save your cash for more exciting adventures upon your arrival.
Tenerife really is a gem of an island. Between the golden sandy beaches, translucent blue waters and endless entertainment, Tenerife can offer couples anything they are looking for. With the great travel deals on flights and Tenerife hotels, there’s no reason not to getaway as soon as possible.
This was the perfect place to spend Christmas and New Year away from home, very relaxing, staff was very helpful and friendly and the room was well equipped with everything we needed. The area is very quiet but bus route to Las Americas etc very handy, we want to book already for next year.
