We have all heard of a safari in Africa, but have any of us heard of the Caribbean safaris? The white sand and the clear skies, that’s about the only thing that springs immediately to mind when you think of the Caribbean. These holidays are always thought of as a beach holiday, a place to relax and chill out by he sea.
Although you won’t be finding lions or many larger animals on one of these safaris there are many different and diverse animals living here. Safaris and bird watchers, a fantastic combination especially here. Trinidad has a much more diverse amount of bird species. With humming birds hovering about around and Pelicans flying way over head it is an astonishing sight.
Now large animals are some what limited on the land but there is not short fall of large animals in the ocean. If you want you can also embark on the water safari, this means you can hop on a boat and parade around the oceans. There are many different kinds of fish and mammal out in the sea as well, ranging from dolphins to whales. This kind of safari is slightly different to that of the ones you find in Africa, with this one you can sometimes get out of the jeep and walk around. But be careful in some of the larger islands you could come across some big alligators.
What is truly astonishing is the general knowledge that the guides have about some of these certain areas. There are some great stories that they tell about adventures they have had in the past. But you need to go on one of the Rain Forest safaris to find out about this. So if you have the decision on a Kenya safari or a Caribbean safari, you should think about what kind of holiday you would prefer, the adventure strung Africa Safari, or the more relaxed Caribbean Safari?
