Hawaii is the focus of this installment of our guide to cruise holidays…
Taking a Hawaii cruise is like the ultimate dream for lots of people worldwide. Very few travel adventures can live up to the thrill of sailing out into the depths of the Pacific Ocean on a luxury cruise liner in search of a paradise that is Hawaii and her neighboring islands. If you have never been to paradise, then here’s your chance! Sunny beaches, palm trees being blow by the soothing Hawaiian winds, vibrant sunsets all await those who journey out on a Hawaiian cruise.
For Canadian and American citizens, there are Hawaii cruises departing from a variety of seaports along North America’s west coast. Vancouver, Seattle and San Diego are the main ports of departure to Hawaii, although several of the other ports up and down the coastline offer cruise services to Hawaii too.
Hawaii cruise vacations normally comprise of a round-trip of 15-18 days and take in Hawaii and one or two ports on the other islands in the group. One-way cruises can also be booked where passengers opt to fly back home from Hawaii.
Lots of companies have longer Hawaii cruise vacations too, lasting 25-30 days or even longer. These extended cruises offer a great choice for people who want to have a more intense adventure once they reach Hawaii, and for people who’d like to spend more time on the neighboring islands of Lanai, Maui, Kauai and Oahu.
Besides lying on the deck by the pool and sunbathing on Hawaii’s beautiful beaches, there are numerous shore excursions on a Hawaii cruise that will satisfy even very restless travelers. Become an explorer and walk through a lava tube on the Big Island or explore the waterfalls of Maui. You can also take a tour by helicopter if hiking isn’t your thing.
On the south end of Hawaii near Kona is a botanical walk through the Kona Cloud Forest. Don’t forget you still have plenty of ocean to explore; from snorkeling to surfing to taking an underwater adventure in a submarine; your Hawaiian cruise can offer a little bit of everything!
