Westin Timeshare Resale

In the unique concept of property ownership known as a timeshare, a number of parties may be given the right to stay in a particular condominium unit in a resort for a specific time of the year.  This provided an option for people who often go for a vacation to be ensured that they would have a place to stay for that specific period of time every year and that they do not have to look for a hotel every time they have to go there.

A timeshare owner may also rent this particular property for that specific date if he is sure that he would not be able to use it.  Actually, the constraints imposed by the location and the specific dates could be overcome if the timeshare owners would be willing to exchange timeshares, and the resorts need not be the same or even owned by the same company.  Westin Timeshare resale, like any timshare resale, may, however be a bit tricky in today’s economy.

This concept of ownership was found to be advantageous to some popular hoteliers and resort developers because it resulted into higher occupancy rates.  Such companies include Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide-owned Westin Hotels and Resorts.  The clientèle of the Westin Hotels are from the higher end and are often business travelers or attendees of conventions.

Westin timeshares have the advantage of having the right to use the expensive villa resorts in well-known vacation destinations in various parts of the world through the Westin Vacation Ownership Program.  Owners of Westin timeshares could enjoy the accommodations in Starwood hotels and resorts in more than 80 nations through the Starwood Vacation Network exchange program.

If you want to purchase a Westin timeshare, this is available through the retail or resale markets.  If you want to get the timeshares at a lower price it is advisable to get them through resale, but some actually prefer to buy them via the retail market.  When you buy the timeshare through retail you may be given a reward, such as a voucher or gift card for staying in some resort for a night.  However, take note that retail prices of timeshares would naturally be higher compared to resale prices because the resort has to factor in the marketing costs.  On the other hand, buying timeshares through resale may often require a longer time because seller and buyer would naturally want to negotiate.

I really enjoyed this article. We vacation by renting timeshares, and have rented at Westin resorts several times. (We always go through http://www.redweek.com) For example we’ve stayed at the Club Regina Los Cabos at Westin in Mexico and the Westin Mission Hills Villas in Rancho Mirage, California. We’ve booked a timeshare rental at Whiski Jack at the Westin Resort in Whistler, British Columbia for the 2010 Winter Olympics which we’re really excited about. We definitely recommend renting timeshares at Westin resorts.
