Canary Islands Winter Sun

Which holiday destination in Europe enjoys sunshine all year round?  It’s a bit of a trick question, as the seven Canary Islands are in fact located off the coast of Morocco in West Africa.  Hundreds of miles south of the mainland – but still part of Spain and therefore within the EU.  Creating a twelve month holiday season.

As a result of this great climate the Canaries have become the second most visited region in Spain after Catalunya (with its star attraction of Barcelona).Attracting over 9 million visitors a year.  So despite the current economic climate thousands of travellers will still be booking holidays in Lanzarote and the Canaries this autumn.

Part of the reason for this ongoing popularity is that the Canaries are the closest winter sun destination to key tourist markets such as the UK and Germany.  Which are both just four hours flying time away.  This winter, flight prices for UK visitors also look set to fall thanks to growing competition on the route between the big guns of the low cost flight world.  Which will hopefully help to reduce the price of flights to Lanzarote.

So for those who have never enjoyed a winter sun holiday in this part of the world before what can they expect?  The temperatures will certainly be warm enough for plenty of days on the beach or by the pool.  With the mercury rising into the early 20´s Celsius throughout December and January.  Whilst the sun never sets much before 6pm – in contrast to the dark afternoons prevalent in Britain at that time.  Rainfall is also very low.

Accommodation standards are high – as the island has been welcoming tourists for over forty years.  Choose from chic rural hotels, budget apartments and luxury villas in Lanzarote.  With the bulk of holidays now booked direct on online thanks to the growth in internet usage over the last five years.

Due to the increase in holidaymakers requiring Lanzarote apartments and villas is fantastic news for visitors to Lanzarote as property owners have had to ensure that accommodation is well furnished, and extras that once had to be paid for are now included as standard

Which is the best resort on the island during the winter months?  That title has to go to Playa Blanca – located right at the southern tip of Lanzarote.  Which enjoys the best microclimate on the island – whilst also boasting a great selection of beaches, such as Papagayo which is just a fifteen minute walk from the centre of the resort.  Along with Playa Dorada, Playa Flamingo and Playa Blanca – which are all located within the resort itself.  The island’s leading tourist attraction of the Timanfaya National Park is also just fifteen minutes drive for anyone who tires of relaxing in the sunshine.

Lanzarote is a popular year round holiday island with a good choice of holiday resorts. Follow the links for even more information about villas in Playa Blanca in particular or other Lanzarote villas and apartments.

The search Volume on the web for Egypt holidays goes through the roof!

Holidays are a curious term across the internet. What are people really looking for when they type in holidays? For those that type in “holidays”, they haven’t really thought about where to go! In order for me to get the best results, i conducted a lot of research into these areas. There will be another post dedicated to tourists in the USA!

European holidays are the most popular holidays in the world, mainly Spain or Turkey. These are great for money value and a hot country. What I want to investigate is where else is next on the radar, not in Europe! When you ask people this you then get this answer “the Caribbean or America”. This is where you would find very different results.

Generally people don’t search all that much for “America holidays”, in fact they usually look for a specific place in this land of the free. People look at Disney World or Las Vegas, not the general size of America. Simply put, search volume is the number you get from people typing in a specific term into Google. After looking into this I thought that the general public would be right and that the Caribbean and America had the highest search volume. However I discovered something surprising. Egypt had a much higher search volume than either of these. Specific places in Egypt had even larger search volumes than the country itself.

Sharm El Sheikh for some reason gets a whopping amount of searches from the UK. Almost 250k people search for this specific term on the internet each month in the UK alone. This is a massive amount, almost as much as the general term holidays. Basically what I can see from this is that people really do almost always know where they want to go on holiday, and whether it be from being told by a friend or being seen on the TV, everybody had a special place they want to visit.

To conclude Egypt holidays is one of the most wanted vacations available, and Sharm El Sheikh holidays is the most popular location, if you prefer to go on a swimming holiday, I recommend Hurghada holidays!

Boracay Golf is like golfing in a paradise. This is something that offers more than just enjoying the water sports activities with the Boracay blue clear waters. Playing golf in Boracay makes your trip something different. It will let you feel the opulent and relax feeling of being in a heaven and golfing jewel in one of the world’s best beaches.

Boracay has Fairways & Bluewater Resort Golf and Country Club. A golf and country club that is perfectly dissimilar from the rest because of its exquisite setting with its breathtaking sceneries. Fairways & Bluewater has an 18 hole, par 72 world class golf course that was designed by an international golf designer, Graham Marsh.

Formerly a private member’s only club it is now opened to the public for few years now. Fairways and Bluewater also was the host of the Johnnie Walker Tour in 1997 and every year it also hosts the RP open on the Asia Golf Tour. It has a comparatively front 9 with water traps around and back 9 that are totally different from the front because of its bumpier mound and elevated fairways where you can have a better view of the sea.

This is the only place in Boracay that has fluffier and fairer sand that are imported. Golfers considered the 525 yards Par 5 # 14 hole as the hardest hole to play at the Fairways and Bluewater Boracay. Distance gauging on the terrain is a bit deceiving so be safe than sorry in playing with this hole. And the hole that boast of a 90 foot drop from the back of the tee to the green? It is definitely the 143 yards par 3 # 16 hole. You have to know some tips when aiming and to avoid the main bunkers from fringing this hole.

It provides the guests with numbers of options by having unique beaches on both the east and west coasts. The golf course alone takes the full advantage of the nature’s beauty in Boracay. You will surely love the rushing waterfalls, extraordinarily beautiful creeks and lakes. They also offer a variety of water sports for some rare occasions that include scuba diving, water skiing, para-sailing, fishing, windsurfing, jet skiing and the like.

The clubhouse is situated on a 6,000 square meters of rolling hills and offers a first class service not only for couples but for the whole family.

This is located in Brgy. Balabag of Newcoast Boracay. This is the only golfcourse in Boracay that has the masterpiece design.

Fairways and Bluewater Boracay Resort provides the Philippine Golf and great Boracay Beach Package Specials. For golfer’s GBS per couple, you have to pay 0, a package that is all-encompassing of 4 days and 3 nights accommodation, unlimited golf, daily American set breakfast, roundtrip land and boat transfer via Caticlan, unlimited shuttle service within particular drop off points and an entrance and souvenir from the Butterfly Farm SPA or ordinary foot spa.

They require their golfer to be in proper golf attire at all times. No sleeveless, no shirts, no denims or cutoffs or you will lose the chance to have a Boracay golf play.

Beach Holiday Vacation Packages

Stress levels are at very high levels nowadays. Many experts will confirm this. People are getting busier and working at a faster rate than what we ever thought possible. Many folks subscribe to this lifestyle and referred to by many as being in a ‘rat race’. It goes without saying that almost everyone needs to take a breather from this now and again. Get your mind turned away from your worries and be revitalized.

If you think that this is a good description of you, then perhaps its time to think about planning a holiday on the beach in the sun. The question is usually asked, ‘Where should I go for my holiday?’. Here’s a few suggestions on some great places to visit in the Caribbean and Central America.

Aruba holiday packages ara a favourite among many travellers.. You don’t need to go looking hard for reasons on why this statement is often made. This is an island that is situated around 10 miles from the coast of Venezuela and is ideally located for great weather all year round. The island has an array of really impressive attractions from the capitol city of Oranjestad through to the famous lighthouse. What will end up happening is that you will take in the beautiful cultural diversity of Aruba and you can work on your tan on the marvelous beaches.

On the other hand, if this is not your kind of destination you may want to consider Belize vacation packages. Belize is not a household name for a holiday destination, but offers some of the most beautiful beaches and natural sites which leaves most folks standing in awe. The country boasts some great historical temples and is also good for trips into the forests to experience the wildlife and visit the caves. Of course all of these things are a mere bonus (or extra) which you can enjoy in addition to the lovely beaches. This (among many things) include going for a good session of horseback riding, having nice cold drinks and soaking up the sun while you are at it.

On the other hand you can always go for a Puerto Rico Vacation Package. Its very straightforward why so many visitors have just about fallen in love with this country over the years. The sites and many wonderful attractions are more than enough and is arguably better than what many other parts of the Caribbean have on offer for travellers. Alternatively you can simply visit one of the luxurious resorts which is probably worth the trip in itself. You may decide to take a relaxing day inland by visitiing many of the cultural site or get up close with Mother nature in the clear blue waters. No matter what you decide to do, it’s almost guaranteed that you will fall in love with everything Puerto Rican.

A visit to any of these places will mean that you’re family has a great time doing some excellent activities. So perhaps its time for you to start living a little and not work so hard. It’s about time!

Bali Tourist Map

January 2, 2010 by 247 Travel Guides

You’ll find Bali located three miles off the west coast of Java with a relatively tiny land area of just over 5,000km ; Bali could fit into Australia over 1,200 times.  From the tip on a Map of Bali in the north to the end of the island in the south is only 55miles and east to west it’s only 90 miles, so getting round the island is reasonably straightforward and the longest drive that you would need to do to get to any resort would be 2 hours at the most.

The most popular Bali Hotels are situated in the south of the island with a few others along the west and east coast.  Nusa Dua is the most southern resort that is favored by travellers, although you may find other less known ones a bit further south.  The roads around the coast of Bali are usually in fine condition, it is when you leave the main stretch that you are going to find that the roads are infrequently maintained to any standard and are typically just dirt tracks frequently impassible by two automobiles and you need to be careful of folk and animals that use not only these side roads but the main roads to walk on.

Heading along the west coast from Nusa Dua you will come to Jimbaran another highly regarded and busy visitor resort.  Maybe 10 minutes further along you will go by Ngurah Rai International airport that is used as a gateway for the remainder of Indonesia.  Kuta and South Kuta are maybe another twenty minutes drive from here and this is where you will find the most commercialised area of Bali.  Not only are the hotels built to accommodate many tourists, but the leisure facilities and the shopping areas very tourist orientated.

The drive from here to the tip of the west coast will take you past some of the more up market holiday maker destinations of Bali.  Legian and Seminyak are situated along the west coast and offer more magnificent accommodation including personal beaches, gardens and swimming pools.  The rest of the drive up the west coast will take you past many places to remain, but they don’t seem to be the famous or popular resorts or hotels.  For the visitor who favors secluded areas there will be plenty of places to stay along this western section of Bali without all of the trappings and crowds of the big tourist places.

From here you could head inland in an easterly direction and you will come to Ubud which is situated in the mountainous region of Bali.  The landscape is worlds apart compared to the seaside resorts.  Here you’ll be encircled by lush tropical rain forests with stunning views of the mountains and volcanoes.  Driving further east you’ll shortly come to the eastern shore, where there are some popular resorts.  As with the resorts further up the west coast you’ll find these are far more expensive than the southern areas due to the excellent diving locations around this area.  The widely recognized resorts on the east coast are Candi Dasa and Sanur.  When you get to Sanur you can take a detour inland and come to Denspanar, the capital of Bali.  Although this isn’t really a popular traveller destination due to its lack of beaches, night life and shopping malls, it’s still worth taking time out to explore.

From Denspanar you would drive south again and before you get to Nusa Dua where you started from, you will pass Tanjung Benoa a truly well-liked, but very up market area.  Tanjung Benoa is located on the tip of the peninsula and has stunning views of the sea.

As far as the most visited and popular places in Bali go, those are the better known ones, but Bali offers so much more.  There are such a lot of more Bali hotels situated all round the island and on some of the smaller islands just around the coast.  Bali is certainly an island to be explored and taking one of the Bali Tours to one of the smaller know villages will give you a miles better understanding of the genuine Balinese way of life.

Knowledge Of Tourism in Italy

December 31, 2009 by 247 Travel Guides

Tourism is one of Italy’s major industries, employing some 23,000 people. Italy is the world’s fifth most visited county according to the World Tourism Organization, a United Nations agency based in Madrid. Popular destinations for tourism in Italy include Venice, Florence and Rome. This article will look at some popular types of tourism in Italy. Whilst the Mediterranean attracts a lot of tourists from Northern Europe who are attracted by its climate and its beaches, Americans are more likely to head to domestic destinations, to the Caribbean or to Mexico for those purposes. So this article will concentrate on other forms of tourism in Italy.

Historical Tourism in Italy

Rome, the “Eternal City” is the primary destinationfor historically based tourism in Italy. Once the seat of the world’s mightiest empire, Rome’s draw as a tourist destination continues to this day. The Coliseum is one of the world’s most famous and instantly recognizable landmarks, and is depicted on the Italian version of the 5-cent Euro coin. Built around 71 AD, its original name was the Flavian Amphitheater, named after the Roman Emperor Titus Flavius Vespasianus, who commissioned the building. It was the site of the brutal gladiatorial games where men fought to the death for the entertainment of the masses.

Rome also houses the Vatican, which is actually a sovereign state in its own right, the world’s smallest, covering a mere 0.17 square miles – the same size as Tiananmen Square in Beijing! Catholics in particular will want to check out the Vatican, being the spiritual center of their faith, but even non-Catholics can enjoy the magnificent art and architecture contained therein.

Skiing Tourism in Italy

Italy is also home to a number of ski resorts. Mont Blanc, on the Italian-Swiss border, is Europe’s highest mountain and is cold enough for almost year-round skiing. Courmayeur is the ski resort on the Italian side of Mont Blanc and attracts visitors from all over the world, including the US. The resort’s website boasts that more languages are spoken there than at the UN.

In the Dolomite Mountains, Cortina is an up-market Italian ski resort. Unlike Courmayeur, it is more popular with Italians than with overseas visitors, so it is worth visiting if you believe in going where the locals go when traveling. You may still spot the occasional American celebrity there – Sylvester Stallone, who filmed Cliffhanger in the Dolomites, has been known to pay the occasional return visit to Cortina.

Culinary Tourism in Italy

Italy is also famous for its food and wine, and there are travel companies that specialize in tours allowing you to sample various regional dishes and visit some vineyards too. One such is Cellar Tours, which offers tours of Italy that include samplings of wines, cheeses and balsamic vinegars. You also get to visit some of Italy’s most beautiful locations, and all trips are individually tailored to your needs. A person gets a chance to stay in luxury hotels and is driven in his own chauffeured Mercedes in high end tours. Ideal for a romantic getaway, or just for lovers of the finer things in life.

Need Of Venice Italy Tourism Guide

Rome, Florence and Venice are Italy’s top tourism destinations. Venice is different from other places as it is built on over a hundred tiny islands. This article will give a brief overview of the city.

Venice Italy Tourism Guide On Arrival and Getting Around

Venice’s airport, Marco Polo International, is well served by most major airlines. From the USA, Delta Airlines flies direct from New York and Atlanta, while US Airlines flies from Philadelphia. Once at the airport, the Alilaguna water bus will take you directly to the city.

There are many ways to get around Venice itself, but of course, everyone going to Venice, Italy for tourism will want to take at least one gondola ride. Make sure you only take a gondola from a licensed gondola stand. There are many unlicensed gondoliers more than willing to part unwary tourists from their Euros.

Venice Italy Tourism Guide To Art and History

The Republic of Venice was a major power in the Middle Ages and well into the modern era, until its surrender to Napoleon’s army in 1797, and its historic sites reflect this. The Doge, or Duke, was the highest elected official and the Gothic Doge’s Palace can still be found in the Piazzetta San Marco. Guided tours are available, where visitors can learn about the history of the palace and its unique architectural features.

The main art museum the Accademia in Venice contains masterpieces of pre-19th century Venetian art. Famous paintings housed in the museum include The Miracle of the Slave by Tintoretto, Pieta by Titian, The Tempest by Giorgione and The Feast in the House of Levi by Veronese. Leonardo da Vinci’s world famous Vitruvian Man is also contained in its collection but displayed occasionally due to it’s fragile condition.

Venice Italy Tourism Guide To Bridges and Squares

Finally, no visit to Venice would be complete without seeing St. Mark’s Square and the world famous Rialto Bridge and Bridge of Sighs. St. Mark’s Square is the center of Venice and many of its historic buildings surround it, including the aforementioned Doge’s Palace, St. Mark’s Basilica and the Procuratie which served as the headquarters of Napoleon’s occupation government.

They say that Venice is for lovers, and local legend has it that lovers kissing on a gondola under the Bridge of Sighs at sunset will be guaranteed eternal love. Whether there’s there is any truth to the legend or not, the Bridge of Sighs is a must-see, an enclosed bridge made of white limestone and connecting the Doge’s Palace to the old prisons. Lord Byron popularized the belief that its name came from the sighs of condemned criminals, though in reality, by the time the bridge was built, the prisons housed only petty criminals, who were unlikely to have received such severe sentences.

The magnificent arched Rialto Bridge is one of the essential destination for tourism in Venice, Italy. For many years, it was the only way to cross the Grand Canal on foot. It is enclosed, like the Bridge of Sighs, and its three walkways house a variety of merchant’s stalls selling jewelry, linens and souvenirs. The water bus’s route 1 stops at the Rialto Bridge on its journey up and down the Grand Canal, if you want to access the bridge from below.
