If you are planning on taking a luxurious vacation getaway to this hidden gem, keep reading and soon you’ll know how to make the most of your Napa Valley Vacation.

First, you should know that if you want to take a Napa Valley vacation, you’re in good company. Napa Valley and the surrounding areas receive almost 4.7 million visitors every year. That makes it the second most visited destination in California, right behind Disneyland.

Why do so many people venture to California to visit Napa Valley? Because wine enthusiasts will be in absolute heaven. There are currently over 700 wineries in the Napa Valley area. They produce all kinds of wine from Pinot Noir to Zinfandel to Chardonnay. While tourists are visiting, they can participate in world-class wine tasting sessions where they will sample some of the finest wine in the world. In fact, Napa Valley became very famous at the Paris Wine Tasting of 1976, when several wineries from the region produced Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon that beat several high label French wines in blind taste tests.

Visitors can also enjoy wine tours which can include visits to famous wine cellars and wine caves. Groups or individuals can be given guided tours through the region. These usually include stops at 4 or 5 wineries and some time in between for lunch. But, they can be customized through special arrangement to include large or small wineries, or they can include just your favorite wineries. Some visitors find that taking a bus tour through the region is a great way to experience ‘Wine Country’.

Here are some quick tips to keep in mind when you participate in a wine tasting during your Napa Valley vacation. Remember that these wines are famous for the rich aroma, so avoid wearing any perfume or cologne that could interfere. Also avoid smoking just before a wine event, as this could interfere with the taste. Last, drink some room temperate water in between each sample to cleanse your palate.

The best way to make the most out of your Napa Valley vacation is to decide ahead of time which wineries you want to visit. Most visitors find that touring wineries that produce their favorite varietal will make for the most enjoyable visit. You need to stay organized, because once you arrive, it is easy for any wine enthusiast to become overwhelmed.

Napa Valley is not only home to some of the world’s best wineries, but it is also a hot spot for fine dining. The small town of Yountville within Napa Valley is the place that you’ll want to visit to enjoy a blend of local wines and famous cuisine. The town is full of high class restaurants that will suit any appetite.

It’s really no surprise that the region known as Napa Valley is a very popular getaway location. london-photo-588A visit to London would surely be incomplete without a visit to Theatreland of the West End which is a very popular area for world class, professional theatre performances. It stages the best shows in the world day in and day out and rivals Broadway for its innovative theatre performances.

As you will have to wait until night for the mesmerizing theatre performances to start up, you can start your day by taking a tour of the city of London and explore the various restaurants and shopping arcades nearby. You can take a short walk to the Soho Square which is a rejuvenating and enchanting experience in and of itself. It also is home to exquisite restaurants and shops where you can eat and shop for your favorite stuff. In Leicester Square you may be able catch some Londoners performing their street performances, which can be quite entertaining at times. You can also find a wide variety of shops there so you can shop until your heart is content.

Albeit all this daytime entertainment, the main attraction is really London’s West End Theatres. The main theatre district is located at the heart of the city surrounded by Oxford Street, Kingsway, Regent Street and The Strand to the South. The streets that are best known for the theatres are Dury Lane, The Strand and The Shaftesbury Avenue which has the famous ‘Hairspray’ show being staged and is a big hit. You can enjoy the ecstatic theatre and then dine at a number of excellent restaurants lined along these streets.

Her Majesty’s Theatre in London is now staging the Phantom of the Opera which is a well told story based on the gothic novel eliciting the life behind the stage of Opera. Just make sure you book your West End theatre tickets for this one beforehand, so that youcan also get a pre-show dinner booked for you as well.

At the Victoria Palace Theatre you’ll find Billy Elliot being staged all through the week. It’s an excellent musical adaptation of the movie and is one of the best shows at West End. An original musical score from Elton John will surely do the trick for mainstream theatre lovers.

If you want your hands on the untold secrets of the Wizard of Oz, just head to the Appollo Victoria Theatre for a hugely popular show, Wicked. It has all the elements which are necessary for an excellent theatre experience – drama, emotion and some eventful changes from the original Wicked to keep you interested throughout the show.

It’s always better to plan your show ahead of time and book your London theatre tickets in advance. That way you won’t find yourself scrambling for tickets at the last moment in case of a sell-out. The best way is to book tickets online.

The largest city in Alberta, Canada is Calgary and it makes for a great getaway whether you like sports, fine dining, water sports, art or shopping. You will also find plenty of top notch Hotels in Calgary Alberta to help make your vacation more enjoyable.

A few of the top things to do and see in Calgary are:

  • Canada Olympic Park – This was the home of the 1988 Winter Olympics and should be on the top of your list for places to go in Calgary. You can ski, snowboard or luge all day and night and there are plenty of spots for beginners just learning these sports.
  • Next I would head to the Calgary Tower, jump inside the high-speed elevator to the top and enjoy one of the most spectacular views of the city. The tower is 190 meters tall and the symbol of identity in Calgary.
  • If you would like to see how life in Calgary was from 1875 to 1940, you definitely need to check out Fort Calgary. This is something you just don’t see on an average vacation.
  • If you are into amusement parks, Calgary offers you Calaway Park. This is Western Canada’s largest outdoor amusement park with 33 rides for you to enjoy over a span of 160 acres.

Once you decide what you want to do on your trip to Calgary, you should have no problem finding a Hotel in Calgary Alberta that fits your needs and price range.   A few of my favorite places to stay in Calgary would be; The Sheraton Cavalier Hotel that offers a spectacular view of the Downtown area and, The Fairmont Palliser, which is a historic landmark.  You can find out all about the Hotels in Calgary and which one will be best for your trip by visiting http://www.calgaryhotelsltd.com/.
